Pain

Sudden pain ripped across
My waxen skin as brambled limbs
Tore open wounds the beast left

I stood in suspended animation
Watching the blood ooze down
Seeping slowly onto the heavy ground

Then the sky turned a bleak color grey
And there was no emotion in the fray
Only an anguished still quiet
 
No air to breathe
No light to discern
Silently encompassing like a vacuum

Leaving open throbbing wounds
Tormented and deep
Amongst a swollen secret hush

I fell down praying for a healing someday
From all the scars that penetrate
Our minds, hearts and souls
